mini@sic prototyping conditions for universities and research laboratories.
In order to stimulate universities and research laboratories to prototype their ASIC designs, Europractice has introduced in 2003 the concept of min@sic.
That means that Europractice has selected several MPW runs in different technologies on which universities and research labs can prototype versy small ASIC designs with reduced minimum prototype fee as follow:
- All MPW runs in AMIS technologies are open to the mini@sic conditions with minimum prototyping fee of equivalent of 2mm2 (4mm2 for non-European customers)
- Selected MPW runs in selected austriamicrosystems technologies are open to the mini@sic conditions with minimum prototping fee of equivalent of 3 or 2mm2 (5 or 4mm2 for non-European customers)
- All MPW runs in IHP technologies are open to the mini@sic conditions with minimum prototyping fee of equivalent of 0.5mm2 (0.75mm2 for non-European customers)
- Selected MPW runs in UMC 0.18u, 0.13u and 90nm CMOS mixed/RF technology are open to the mini@sic with minimum prototyping fee of equivalent of ~2.4mm2. Special condtions for 90nm CMOS: ~3.5mm2 for 7,000Euro (18,400Euro for non-European customers)
